Is 3D Worth It on a TV?

It seems that 3D ever since it has gotten mainstream has been the topic of many TV shows, news, articles and posts all over the internet. When 3D Blu Ray appeared though people had the feeling that even though 3D is rather new, it evolves quite fast and in some cases, it may turn people's interest of getting a 3D TV set. What actually made the new Blu Ray 3D technology shine was James Cameron's extremely popular movie telling the tale of giant blue Native Americans living in another galaxy. It seems that 3D technology is seeping through the everyday life of more and more people and undoubtedly, it's evolving very fast.
The question is though: Is 3d worth it on a TV? Even thought that is a good question, another one would be how dorky people look while wearing 3D glasses? Everyone can remember that they had some dorky looking friends in high school, those guys that picked their nose until it started to bleed and then swallowed it all. Well, Altec wireless speaker are like that, but have a tenfold dorkiness level. There also glasses that don't really look that bad, but the fact is that not everyone can afford them. Spending $100 on a pair or more is certainly not something everyone can afford. If a family has 4 members, that's $400 right off the bat!
A second question people should answer is if 3D is actually for them. Many tests have already shown that plenty of people love 3D, but there are also those who said they would only like to experience it occasionally. At the same time, if people watch 3D content for extended periods of times they can get eye strain, headaches and even feel like throwing up.
Regardless though of what some might think of 3D, that it's not actually great or anything, if people got this far with reading the article, then they're certainly interested in it, but do they really have the money? Any 3D review will generally have an HDTV that comes with a hefty price tag that cannot be ignored easily. There are of course the cheaper versions, but who wants to see poor quality 3D processing? Having a high definition TV set means people want to see crisp and vibrating colors and they won't settle for anything less than that.
In the end it's not only about the capability of watching 3D movies on such TV sets, because people can also play games. Technology aficionados know that very well and for them this is one of the main reasons to why they purchase a 3D TV set.
As this article states, 3D TV sets are worth it for everyone who wants to see their favorite movies in a new and more realistic way. They do provide superior image quality and offer a more immersive experience, but eventually it all boils down to the individual's preferences. Some might get eye strain from watching too much 3D content, while others will just be fine with it and disregard this small inconvenience. The good news though is that manufacturers are coming up with a newer 3D technology which will allow people to forget the dorky looking glasses and watch their favorite 3D movies without them!
